Carmoisine is a synthetic red azo dye useful in foods which must be heat treated after fermentation. It can be used in various applications in cosmetics and can be used to colour marzipan, Swiss rolls, jams and preserves, sweets, brown sauce, flavoured yogurts and packet soups, jellies, breadcrumbs and cheesecake mixes!
