G'day, I have a great big Qn regarding dilutions.
I recently bought some base moisturiser/shampoo/conditioner's along with some carrier oils and essential oils.
I have looked at many recipes and books, and have become confused!
I would like to make lotions in 100ml batches.
So to 100ml base lotion, I believe I use 10ml carrier oil.
Though:
When it comes to the dilution of essential oils within the 10ml carrier, I have read all different dilution strategies. These range from using 10drops/100ml - 125drops/100ml!

So, can I really use anywhere between 0.5% - 10% essential oils within a lotion/shampoo???
Hope that makes sense! A helping hand will be greatly appreciated!!!
Plenty of Thanks,
Cheerio, Nikki

Nicole
Hi Nicole, When you add carrier oils to the base products, the amount of carrier oils you add, depends on the end result you want to acheive. The richer the cream, the more carrier oil you use. 10 ml per 100ml base is a good amount for your moisturiser for the face and body.

When you add essential oils into the shampoo and conditioner, up to 0.5% to 2% is sufficient, depending on the aroma of the essential oils you use. Up to 2% for the body moisturiser and up to 1% for the face moisturiser.

Enjoy creating!
