Hi,
I've just purchased some products from NDA and am wondering if I should refridgerate them for longer shelf life. I'm currently in a humid country with room temperature of about 28deg celsius. Could you advise on the following?
- Solubiliser
- Cocoa Butter
- Flavouring (Peach Butterscotch etc)
- Plantaserv Q
- Vitamin E
- Grapeseed Extract
- Floral Waters (Chamomile, Rose, Lavender & Orange)
- Carrier Oils (Jojoba, Almond Sweet)
I was told that Avocado and Evening Primrose oils go rancid really fast. How fast is fast and will i help if i were to refridgerate them?
Appreciate your help!
Audrey

Hi Audrey,
definitely put everything in the fridge! I do and its not that humid here (yet). It will just extend their shelf life anyway.

Hi Audrey,
Refrigerating your products will not necessarily extend the shelf life but it will preserve the properties of the products.
Avocado carrier oil is very stable and has a long shelf life. The expiry date should always be displayed on the bottle, but 9 months is the average shelf life. Always be guided by the expiry date on the bottle.
Evening primrose oil has a short shelf life, 3 to 6 months, I would suggest ordering as needed. It is a delicate carrier oil and best added to cold creams and not heated.
Adding natural vitamin E oil to your carrier oils will prevent them from going rancid.
Good luck with it all.

Hello Audrey, Nadine,
I learn something new every day. Didn't know that about evening prim oil. I know now.
Glad that I can help, many people are helping me to establish my business and I am only happy to pass on whatever I learn.
