Hi Kylie,
Chamomile blue(matricaria recutita) and everlasting(helichrysum angustifolium) are both suitable for sensitive skin and both have anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties, as well as beneficial properties to sooth eczema and psoriasis.
Suugested blend:in 100ml carrier oil(sensitive skin always lower % of essential oils used)
chamomile blue- 6 drops
evelasting 2 drops
or just 8 drops chamomile in 100ml carrier oil
or just 8 drops rose absolute or rose otto
Suggested recipe:
oil phase
-25ml calendula infused oil(ours is olive oil)
-8gm plant derived emulsifying wax
water phase
-65ml purified water
-5ml(1tsp) vegetable glycerin
-1ml preservative (plantaserve N)-natural
and essential oil blend add at 45% in cooling phase
Other carrier oils can be used such as apricot kernel oil and 10% jojoba oil.

Thank you Nadine, Are all of those products available on this site. Carrier oils, are they the base. Like you use them then add the others??
Thank you for your time.

Hi Kylie,
yes carrier oils are the base that is used to "carry" the essential oils that are added. Lavender is an essential oil, therefore not actually required in creams or lotions. You could make up a simple lotion using an apricot and almond oil blend, which has nourishing properties and not use any essential oil at all. The end result would have no scent at all, unless you added a preservative.

Hi,
Can anyone shed some light on Evening Primrose oil, does if help with sensitive skin. I have been working with my Naturopath for 4months now and he said he has no idea how to help my son with his itching of his eczema, hence why i have been asking how to make a basic cream. A Naturopath of 35 yrs has now idea, seems to astound me. Does anyone else have any suggestions???\
Thank you Michelle for your advice.

Hi Kylie,
on one of my jaunts through the net I came across a list of essential oils for various skin conditions. This is the list for eczema:
SKIN WITH ECZEMA
Carrot
Chamomile
Bergamot
Evening Primrose
Hyssop
Eucalyptus
Lavender
Patchouli
Rosehip
I imagine these are all interchangable, so the lavender can be left out for instance. I know that chamomile is very soothing to sensitive skin and is one of the few oils that can be used with babies.
