Hello, I want to order a body butter (for peonal use only) & was wondering if the Shea Butter Unrefined is ok to use straight onto the body without preparatio, is it 'creamy' enough? Or are the 'prepared' body butte for that use i.e. Refined Shea Butter or Vanilla Body Butter? Prices seem incredibly cheap.
Thankyou for your help, Andrea.

Andrea
Dear Andrea,
Shea butter is great as part of a cream or base product but you generally don’t use more than 50%. On the other hand our body butte are designed to be rich moisturising butter for the body with the right coistency to rub into the skin.

We blend body butter by adding 50% moisturiser and 50% body butter base...then secret ingredients. This creates a whipped body butter. Body butter base is good for beginners. The tricks come when you get better....

Hi Andrea,

You can use the Shea butter straight on the body or even a lump of the Cocoa Butter (by the way the organic one from NDA is just fabulous I want to eat it, Ohhhhhh so yummy) Try some Mango butter as well. If it is really aged skin or wrinkles you are treating try a little Rosehip oil, Jojoba and vitamin e mixed in with a little shea butter it's fab, a little goes a long way.

It depends on just the kind of feel you are after, how old, how dry etc the skin is, what you are trying to achieve. Straight butter is quite strong, but it does go straight in which is the beauty of it. It can be mixed with just about any oil. Warm the Shea butter until it is soft not liquid put the other oils in it and use a small hand mixer to whip it all together if you like and then you will have a lighter textured product. Overheating shea can cause it to granulate.

Shea butter and oil mixed together will result in a salve type product unless whipped.

I make mine up into body butters and lotions which are emulsified products with water and many oils in them and my customers just rave at the results.
