Hi,
I would like to blend massage oil, but in order to let the smell to be long lasting, could I add fragrant oil to help? And how many percentage I can add?
Thanks,
May

Hi May,
I would not recommend using fragant oil in a massage blend that is being applied to the skin. As the fragrant oils are synthetic they may couse sensitivity and could burn the skin.
Using base notes such as frankincense and myrrh wil help to create a lingering fragrance-they act as a fixative.
Approx. 2.5% is the suggested addition of pure essential oils to a body blend. You can use less if you like. Do a test batch and decide on the strength. Again, I would not recommend using any fragrant oils.
I hope your blends work out well.

Hi Nadine,
Thank you for your promptly answer.
I won't add fragrant oil into blend massage oil as you suggested, but if I add into soap when I make, will the soap may couse sensitivity or burn the skin?
Thanks,
May

Hi May,
It's hard to answer your question. It depends how much you add, what percentage, also the formula of your soaps.
Up to 1% of fragrant oil would would be a guide line and adding coconut fatty acid would minimise sensitisation to the skin. We do not stock this product but can source it for you.
You would need to do a test batch and then test it for its effect on the skin.
I would recommend referring to a soap making book, which we have 2 of available on our web site for purchase, just click on the books icon on the left of our web page .
I hope you find this information helful.
