hi im after a cream or anything to put on my son he is 3 and he has really bad excema all over his back, arms and legs can anyone suggest a blend for him, its very itchy
thanks

janaha
Hi Janaha,
Jojoba oil is very good for eczema. Can be used to moisturise and to cleanse the skin. I would suggest doing a test patch first with the essential oils to ensure your son does not have a reaction.

To do this, add one drop of lavender essential oil to the jojoba carrier oil, 10 ml and massage a few drops on to the skin behind his knee or inside his elbow. Leave this for 24 hours and if there is no reaction, like dry flaky skin or redness, then you are ready to proceed.

The safest and most universal essential oil is Lavender-Lavendula angustifolia. Bergamot-citrus bergamia, is very effective for treating eczema.

I would suggest after a patch test, to blend 5 drops of lavender-lavendula angustifolia essential oil and bergamot-citrus bergamia into 100ml of jojoba oil, preferably the organic jojoba oil.

To use this blend, massage 10mls into your sons dry clean clean skin every evening and gently work into the skin until absorbed.

After 2 to 3 weeks the skin should have improved.

Very important things are that the skin is well dried before applying the blend.

The Bergamot is not to be used in the sun,so if you would like to put this blend on during the day, use lavender only or mix two blends. One with lavender and bergamot and another with lavender only.

Enjoy your day!

Nadine
