Essential oils extracted from plants vary in their extraction methods. For example, rosemary is extracted by a process called steam distillation, whereas orange is extracted via the cold pressed procedure. Both methods vary markedly and as a result they utilize different machinery to extract the essential oils. With the correct apparatus it is possible to extract essential oils from most plants however, this is not feasible in any regular household kitchen.
