And in what quantities? Can you use it instead of grapefruit seed extract? or do you use both? Many thanks Lel Lesley Posted: Thu Aug 03, 2006 9:11 AM   Hi Lesley, The benzoin resin is added to your creams at the cooling stage at about 45%. You need to leave the bottle sitting in a glass of hot water for a few minites to make it more liquid. The benzoin will help preserve your product and will also act as a fixative, to maintain the fragrance you have added to your cream. Use 1% of benzoin and 1% of grape seed extract to preserve your cream and store in a cool, dry shady place. We have many books available on our website with some great recipes.
